The body of Ms. Choi was discovered in a refrigerator in a home in the village of Lung Mei, about 27 kilometers (17 miles) from Kowloon City, where she was last seen on Tuesday.
According to police superintendent Alan Chung, “we believe the victim and her ex-family husband’s had several financial problems involving enormous quantities of money.”
Someone’s displeasure with the victim’s handling of her riches served as justification for the murder.
Two stew pots thought to contain human flesh were discovered in the home, according to the police, who also stated that they were still looking for some of her body parts.
According to authorities, “a meat slicer, an electric saw, and some garments in suspected relation with the case were seized at the scene.”
Choi was reportedly a well-known socialite in Hong Kong and had just been on the cover of the fashion and luxury lifestyle publication L’Officiel Monaco.
