Honors after two teens are killed in a collision in Morpeth

Two teen friends’ lives “will be changed forever,” according to the families of the two who died in the crash.

Mikey Easton, 16, and Riley Hedley, 17, passed away at the scene on the A196 in Morpeth, Northumberland, close to Coopies Way.

The crash occurred on Sunday about 00:40 GMT, and the cause is currently being looked into.

They were a fun-loving pair that lighted up every room, and their families said in a joint statement that they could have been brothers.

“We are utterly devastated. The worlds of both of our families have been completely upended.

We have never been more crushed by news. Our lives will be forever altered, and we will miss them with all of our hearts every day for the rest of our lives.

At the location, floral tributes have been left.
More than £5,300 has been raised in less than 48 hours through an internet fundraising campaign put up to assist both families with their funeral expenses.

The families claimed that they had found “great consolation in the compassion” extended to them by their relatives and friends.

They claimed that the two boys were beloved by all and left a loving and enduring impression on everyone they met.

We also want to express our gratitude to our neighbors and neighborhood businesses for their generosity. We are overwhelmed by the support we have received from the entire community.

Flowers and handwritten comments were placed at the crash site shortly after it occurred.

According to Northumbria Police, both families are receiving help from the force, and they are asking anyone with information to come forward.
